The museum is home to the largest public collection of works by Henry Moore, most of which is held in the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre. The museum dedicated approximately 3, square metres (32, sq ft) of space to the sculptor, which includes the Henry Moore Sculpture Centre, and related galleries including the Irina Moore Gallery.

The Henry Moore Sculpture Centre at the AGO originally opened into house Moore's original gift to the AGO, now totalling more than sculptures and works on paper. This sketchbook is from an edition of 25 sets. Each set consists of a signed facsimile sketchbook numbered A1/25 to A25/25 (the DMA's is A9/25), the catalogue and two etchings with colour aquatint, created by the artist for this part of the edition, signed and numbered 1/25 to 25/25 (ours is 9/25).

He is best known for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world as public works of well as sculpture, Moore produced many drawings, including a series depicting Londoners sheltering from the Blitz during the Second World War, along with other graphic works on.
